Over four years ago, I started a website consisting of recipes from my husband’s family.  They loss the family recipe book in  hurricane Katrina.  It was my first attempt at creating a website.

I discovered that people (outside of the family) were actually visiting my site. So I started adding more recipes to my www.Cooking-New-Orleans-Style.com website.

I wrote my first article and submitted it to EzineArticles.com.  It was called “You Say Merliton, I Say Mirliton – A Merliton By Any Other Name Tastes Just As Sweet.”  If you do not know what a merliton is, please visit EzineArticles.com and read it.

So how is cooking and entrepreneurism related?  If you have a hobby that you are passionate about, it can be a basis for an internet business.

I starting writing articles and pointed them to my website.  The power of article marketing is amazing.  By just writing articles and updating my website with recipes, I started getting traffic.   Now people in over 30 countries visit my cooking website.

Even a hobby can be profitable.  That’s the power of the internet.
